Get a day pass to the Lenexa Rec Center to take a dip in the indoor pool and relax in their 90-degree warm water wellness pool. Craving a little thrill? Get your adrenaline pumping by going down the two 40-foot-tall water slides. Those water features are for adults too. Satisfy that post-workout (pool) appetite and impress your date with delicious flavors from the Public Market. If you want some more no-screen time, venture to the Lenexa City Center Library and visit the travel section on a quest to find information on a place you would like to visit someday.
Eat your way through the Market by ordering (and maybe sharing) dishes from all seven merchants. If you need to order extra tots, no one will judge. Staff favorites include smash burgers and tots from Cosmo Burger; chicken Florentine pizza from Topp’d Pizza + Salads; smoked chicken and Banso seasoned potatoes with Kongla fried rice from African Dream Cuisine; butter chicken from Sohaila’s Kitchen; bibimbap from Kimchi and Bap; and a sprinkled donut paired with an iced chai tea latte from Mr. D’s Coffee. When you finish feasting, take a stroll around campus to watch the warming Kansas sunset or walk across the street and enjoy the variety of local shops and businesses in Lenexa City Center.
