Grab a friend, get some grub and groove into the weekend. Join us for free, live music and flavorful food options from our merchants and rotating food trucks every Friday night from May 29-October 30, 2026 (except June 10) from 7 to 10 p.m. on the Lower Commons.

What to know before you attend

  • Outside alcohol and coolers not allowed. Purchase beverages from merchants.
  • Food and drinks available to purchase.
  • Patio seating available but we encourage BYOC — bring your own chair.
  • Free to attend. No tickets/registration needed.

The 2026 Friday Night Sound Bites season will start up on May 29. 

Parking

Free parking available onsite in the Lenexa Civic campus parking garage (17201 W. 87th St. Pkwy). Enter on Winchester Street or West 88th Street. Additionally, there is public parking in the Winchester Parking garage, west side of the Shawnee Mission Aquatic Center — enter on Winchester Street.

Event status

In case of inclement weather, Friday Night Sound Bites will be canceled. Weather is monitored and decisions are made by 3 p.m. the day of. Check below for updates:
