Global Neighbors & Flavors Fest

Feast on cuisines, performances, and experiences from around the world at this Public Market event! We have partnered with the Ethnic Enrichment Commission of Kansas City to celebrate the rich cultures that make our community diverse and vibrant. Shop vendors, take in live performing arts and try diverse flavors from Public Market merchants and globally inspired food trucks. This is a free event, no tickets or registration required.

  • 10:30 a.m. — Thailand, Thai Cultural Center of Greater KC 

  • 11 a.m. — Japan, Tatsumaki Yosakoi 

  • 11:20 a.m. — BREAK 

  • 11:50 a.m. — China, China Multicultural Association 

  • 12:20 p.m. — Germany, S.V. Blautaler (German Folk Dance and Schuhplattle)

  • 12:50 p.m. — Taiwan, HK Chinese Folk Dance Group  

  • 1:10 p.m. — Mexico, Grupo Folklorico Misol 

  • 1:30 p.m. — Parade of Flags

 

 

Craft & culture booths 

Discover unique customs, view authentic artifacts up close, and shop for handcrafted items that reflect the spirit of each nation. This year's featured countries include Bolivia, China, Gambia, Germany, Israel, Kenya, Samoa and Taiwan. Booths will be set up inside Lenexa City Hall (above the Main Market level).

Cardboard Corner Cafe

  • Corn dog waffle dippers
    cornbread waffle | all-beef hot dogs | served with a side of queso, mustard, chili, and ketchup

    sweet waffle | chocolate shell | marshmallows | graham crackers 

  • Boba: cherry limeade (cherry boba I grenadine I lime juice I sprite)  

KC Döner

  • German style doner

Mr. D's Coffee

  • Specialty mochi donuts: strawberry matcha, Thai tea creme brulee, yuzu, black sesame and brown sugar boba
  • Raspberry sprinkled donuts
  • Beverages: Thai tea latte and mango sticky rice latte

Saap Saap Noodles

  • Pad kra pao — Thai basil stir fry with white rice and fried egg

Sohaila's Kitchen

  • Lamb curry
  • Rice pudding (Kheer) includes almonds, pistachio and coconut slices 

Topp'd Pizza + Salads

  • Chicken Florentine pizza (Italy), Greek pizza, & Thai peanut pizza

Participating countries serving breakfast (8:30-11 a.m.), lunch (11 a.m.-1 p.m.) and dinner (5-8 p.m.) inside The Kitchen at the Public Market.

    • Chicken with coconut rice, sukuma wiki (seasoned greens), assorted cookies and breads, handmade caramels
The Lenexa Farmers Market will be open from 8 a.m. to noon on the Upper Commons of the Lenexa civic campus. Several of the vendors offer diverse prepared foods and produce.

Parking

Free parking available onsite in the Lenexa Civic campus parking garage (17201 W. 87th St. Pkwy). Enter on Winchester Street or West 88th Street. Additionally, there is public parking in the Winchester Parking garage, west side of the Shawnee Mission Aquatic Center — enter on Winchester Street.
