“It’s always exciting to welcome new merchants who bring fresh energy and unique flavors to the Lenexa Public Market,” said Public Market Manager Tessa Adcock. “KC Döner and Homestead Kitchen + Bakery each offer something different, and we’re thrilled for the community to come experience what they have to offer.”

Homestead Kitchen + Bakery

Hours
Open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner

  • Sunday & Monday: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Tuesday – Saturday: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Their story
Homestead Kitchen + Bakery is owned by Kelly and Lori Gardner. Their team starts every morning by baking fresh pastries and cookies from scratch — just like Grandma used to make. From hearty breakfasts to satisfying lunches and cozy dinners, everything they serve is crafted with your family in mind. Whether you're stopping in for a sweet treat or sitting down for a warm meal, you'll always feel right at home. This marks the second location for the business which has built a faithful following at their original storefront in Baldwin City, Kansas.

Menu
Homestead Kitchen + Bakery has a little bit of everything on their menu. “We’re a delicious, casual concept that brings balance to the table,” explains Lori. “Whether you want a healthy salad and protein balls, or you have a hankering for a burger, fries, and ice cream, we have something for every mood. We’ve been in business for close to nine years and we’ve worked very hard to build a concept that our customers enjoy. We look forward to sharing that with our friends in Lenexa!”

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held for Homestead Kitchen + Bakery on Friday, Aug. 8 at noon.

KC Döner

Their story
KC Döner owner Sami Jenedi teams up with his mother, Chef Nesrin Jenedi, to share Mediterranean cuisine rooted in rich Turkish tradition. Sami says, “My mom leads the cooking, bringing the traditional flavors of southern Turkey to life, while I bring in my experience from when I worked as a cook at Hilton Barcelona. Every dish is made with care, and we want people to feel at home through the food we serve.”

Menu
Mediterranean cuisine with a strong Turkish identity, KC Döner’s menu is flavorful, fresh and rooted in tradition. Sami says “Our recipes come straight from home, specifically Antioch (Antakya) in southern Turkey. This region is known for its unique culinary identity, blending Turkish, Arabic and Mediterranean influences. Everything we make is based on traditional recipes passed down in our family. This food is personal; it reflects both our roots and our journey.”
