Every Wednesday is family night at the Lenexa Public Market from 5 to 8 p.m. This week, we're celebrating National Fire Prevention Week by focusing on fire prevention and cooking safety with the Lenexa Fire Department, Henderson Engineers and the Lenexa City Center Library.
Bring the kiddos for free family fun and participate in these special activities:
5 to 7 p.m.
- Check out the inside of a firetruck and play yard games with the firefighters on the lower commons.
- Pick up a fire prevention goodie bag from Henderson Engineers (while supplies last).
5:30 to 5:45 p.m.
- Safety demonstration upstairs in the Kitchen led by Lenexa Fire Department and Henderson Engineers.
6 to 6:30 p.m.
- Safety-themed Storytime with the Lenexa City Center Library. Storytime will feature stories, songs, fingerplays and movement activities that will foster pre-reading skills.
6:45 to 7 p.m.
- Safety demonstration upstairs in the Kitchen led by Lenexa Fire Department and Henderson Engineers.

Family night is free to attend but a few of the rotating activities require pre-registration and purchase of tickets. Bring the whole family for free indoor and outdoor activities like a balloon artist, yard games, sidewalk chalk, coloring pages, and classic board games including Connect4, checkers, tic-tac-toe and Jenga®.
