Love at first bite! Learn how to make French macarons using the French meringue method. This is a hands-on course led by Kate Smith, owner of Kate Smith Soirée. We will also demonstrate 2 filling recipes that are easy to make at home and sure to please a crowd. We will discuss meringue techniques, piping techniques, bust myths and much more! You will work in groups of 2 to create, from start to finish, your own 15-count gift box of macarons to take home.
Hors d’oeuvres and drinks will be provided and there will be an intermission during the baking portion to allow attendees to get lunch/dinner at the market if they choose to. This class will be specifically for a 21 and older crowd. One glass of champagne per person will be included with your ticket. Additional alcohol can be purchased at Topp'd Pizza and Salads or Chewology.
Come ready to learn and prepare to have a great time!
GROUPS: Students will work in groups of two. Because this class is for pairs, each ticket is for an increment of two seats. You can purchase the ticket: Table for TWO or Table for FOUR. *There's a discount when you purchase a table for FOUR people.
*Tickets must be sold like this because due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we will no longer pair strangers together. Invite a friend or family member to take the class with you!
*Macarons are naturally gluten-free, but do contain tree nuts and eggs.

COVID-19 UPDATE FOR CLASSES: In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, we’ve updated our procedures for classes. This includes, but is not limited to:
- In accordance with Kansas Governor Laura Kelly’s executive order mandating mask usage means that you’ll need to wear a barrier face mask while attending a class at the Public Market. The only exception is people are exempt from wearing a mask “while they are eating or drinking, provided they maintain a 6-foot distance between individuals.”
- Barrier face masks will be available for participants who do not have their own.
- We’ve limited class sizes to accommodate social distancing. Participants will be spaced six feet apart from each other, and will not be required to work with anyone outside of the person/people they came with. Participants who are taking a class with a friend or family member etc. will be seated together.
- We thoroughly clean all the tables, chairs, and equipment before and after each class.
- Limits on class size will be in accordance with state and county guidelines.
- Check with individual instructors on any specific class expectations.
Your patience and understanding during this time is appreciated.
